WM Phoenix Open 2024 LIVE commentary: UK tee times, field, and how to follow as Scottie Scheffler defends title on Super Bowl weekend

Super Bowl fever is taking over Las Vegas this weekend but Sunday’s loudest sporting spectacle may well take place in neighbouring Arizona instead.

That’s because the 2024 WM Phoenix Open is being held this week as golf’s best tackle the famous TPC Scottsdale once again.

Superstar Scottie Scheffler is the two-time defending champion in Phoenix and will be looking to secure a historic three-peat.

But a top-class field will also be eyeing the title as the PGA Tour continues to build-up to major season.

Unlike last year, the Phoenix Open is no longer a ‘signature event’ but plenty of golf’s top stars will be in action to provide the perfect warm-up act to Super Bowl 58.

WM Phoenix Open 2024: Course info

The Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale is one of the most famous on the PGA Tour calendar due to its stunning par 3 16th hole.

The 163-yard hole is surrounded by a full-seater stadium nicknamed ‘The Coliseum’ which can hold up 20,000 fans.

The tournament has gained notoriety in recent years for being the one weekend of the season where the normal etiquette of golf goes out of the window.

Fans can been seen hurling beer cans onto the 16th green if a hole-in-one is made while players often call for more noise on the tee box.

While the iconic par 3 is the showpiece hole, 15, 17 and 18 are also superb tests and make for an exciting finish.

WM Phoenix Open 2024: Field and tee times

The field is again littered with top talent with seven of the world’s top ten teeing it up.

Scheffler headlines the action while Pebble Beach Pro-Am champion Wyndham Clark will also feature.

Rickie Fowler, who won this event in 2019, will be hoping to continue his recent good form.

The full field, groups and tee times have been confirmed and can be found .

Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele have both withdrawn from the tournament.

WM Phoenix Open 2024: What has been said?

US Open champion Clark could be the man to beat this week following his third victory on Tour in nine months.

The 30-year-old was declared the winner of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Sunday after bad weather curtailed the tournament.

Clark hit a stunning 12-under-par 60 on Saturday to take the lead on the third day.

He finished on 17-under par, one shot clear of Sweden's Ludvig Aberg, and the adverse weather conditions meant the event was cut short.

Clark said: "It's pretty surreal right now. It's maybe not the way you dream of winning.

"With that said, a lot of us had, not that we knew, but we definitely had this outside shot and thinking that maybe this is our last round."
