Scottie Scheffler has won his last two tournaments but the World No.1 has chosen to wait to compete for a third-straight success.

The two-time Major winner picked up his second Masters title last month before backing it up with another victory at the RBC Heritage a week later.

The next event on Tour is the Wells Fargo Championship and a star-studded line-up will take to the course at Quail Hollow in North Carolina.

But the field is set to be missing Scheffler and marvelbet369.com has taken a look at why…

Is Scheffler playing in the Wells Fargo Championship?

Scheffler will not be playing in the Wells Fargo Championship this week.

He has not committed to the event, deciding to remain at home with his wife, Meredith, instead.

The couple are expecting the birth of their first child any day now, if they haven’t already.

The 27-year-old will miss this tournament but is expected to go for his third major title at the PGA Championship next week.

However, if his child still isn’t born ahead of that event, he could miss the major action at Valhalla.

Scheffler was very open with his intentions at The Masters last month, admitting he would leave the tournament instantly if his wife went into labour

Despite being the sole leader at Augusta heading into the final round, Scheffler said: “I’m sticking to my word [to pull out].

“Fortunately I’ll be here at the Masters for quite some time [in years to come].

“I think you only have your first child once so I’d rather be at home if that’s going to happen.

“I definitely have a way to get home pretty quickly. I’ll be available to go home whenever I need to."

It means Scheffler will not be hesitant to pull out of the PGA Championship should Meredith still be expecting their child.

And if their child is born only a day or two before the major, it could impact Scheffler’s decision to even take part in it at all as he focuses on his family.

But despite that, he is confident his focus won’t stray too far from golf, potentially indicating he’ll be back in action soon after the birth of his child.

Speaking after putting on his second Green Jacket last month, he said: "I definitely will enjoy the birth of my first child, and my priorities will change very soon, so golf will be fourth in line.

"But I still love competing. I don't plan on taking my eye off the ball any time soon."
