Scottie Scheffler forced into huge change at PGA Championship as incredible 42-round streak ends

Scottie Scheffler’s has seen a stunning streak come to an end at this year’s PGA Championship.
World No.1 Scheffler has won four tournaments already this year, including The Masters last month, and became a father of the first time recently.
After a whirlwind few weeks, he arrived at Valhalla Golf Club as the red-hot favourite and started his title challenge with a typically impressive opening 67.
But Scheffler’s world was dramatically turned upside down on Friday morning.
After a fatal accident outside the Valhalla gates backed up traffic, Scheffler attempted to bypass a police cordon and get into the property to begin his second round preparations.
Instead, he was pulled over, arrested and taken to Louisville Metro Police Station before being booked, charged and having his mugshot taken.
It was a shocking incident for the golf superstar and the world’s media was gripped on what would happen to him next.
And in another remarkable twist, Scheffler was then released and heading back to Valhalla before going on to shoot an incredible round of 66.
That score was his 42nd round of par or better – a streak that has lasted for over 250 days and has seen him blow away his competition several times.
However, Scheffler was forced into more upheaval for Saturday’s round as his normal caddie Ted Scott was absent so that he could attend his daughter's high school graduation.
Scheffler’s close friend, Brad Payne, stepped in and it seemed the events of the past few days took its toll on the 27-year-old.
He was four-over after his first four holes and had to settle for a round of 73, bringing his incredible run to an end.
Scheffler will have Scott back on the bag for Sunday’s finale as he attempts to hit back again and climb the leaderboard.
He is eight shots off Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa at the top and will need to go low while hoping for a lot of help to get back in contention.
