talkSPORT betting tips – Best golf bets and expert advice for LIV Golf Korea

South Korea will get its first visit from LIV Golf this week as a star-studded field descends upon the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Incheon for the seventh event of the season.

Chilean Joaquin Niemann has been the star of the show so far with his victory in Mexico City last time out his third of the campaign, and he has been installed as the joint-favourite for Korea glory at 6/1 alongside Bryson DeChambeau.

Given the length of this week's course, which stands at close to 7,500 yards, the power hitters should have an advantage, but well-protected greens also put a premium on accurate approach shots, making this a true tee-to-green test.

LIV Golf Korea betting tips

  • Dean Burmester to win and each-way @
  • Thomas Pieters to win and each-way @
  • Caleb Surratt to win and each-way @

Powerful Burmester to star in Incheon

South African Dean Burmester made the decision to leave the PGA Tour and join the LIV circuit in 2023 and he has been reaping the benefits ever since, with a victory in Miami last year when he beat Sergio Garcia in a playoff.

The 35-year-old came close to landing his second LIV title when second in Hong Kong this year, while he has also recorded notable finishes in Riyadh (T4), Adelaide (T12) and Miami (T14).

Burmester is one of the biggest hitters on the tour, ranking second in driving distance, while his greens-in-regulation standing of tied-sixth is evidence of his strong approach play. He should relish the test this week.

Pieters to make LIV breakthrough

Another player who gives it a good rip off the tee is Belgian Thomas Pieters, who ranks 14th in driving distance and looks capable of getting in the mix for his first LIV title.

The 33-year-old is tied for sixth in greens in regulation, evidence of his strong tee-to-green game, and he produced a positive showing last time out when tied for 15th place in Mexico City.

A six-time DP World Tour winner, Pieters will be eager to make his mark on the Saudi-backed circuit and, if his putter starts to warm up, he could do exactly that in Korea.

Surratt one to watch out for

The youngest player on the LIV Tour, Caleb Surratt is a real talent at 21 years of age and it would not be a surprise to see him in contention this weekend.

American ace Surratt is seventh in driving distance, evidence of his extra power, but he also has a deft touch on the greens and is joint-first in putting average.

His consistency on approach has been a slight issue, but there were better signs when he claimed a share of 11th place in Mexico City last time out and that performance should have given him a boost for this trip to Korea.
