Exclusive – Lee: ‘Tiger Woods is on his way back to the number one spot’

Rob Lee believes Tiger Woods is heading back to the world number one spot after ending his title drought.
Woods has endured a tumultuous few years, with the 14-time major winner suffering various injury problems and a dramatic loss of form, having had to contend with well documented personal problems.
But, after securing his first official PGA Tour victory in two and a half years at Bay Hill last week, Lee reckons the American is set to be a major force again.
“I think he is definitely back,” said the former European Tour golfer. “Is he going to be as dominant as he once was? Maybe, maybe not, but he is definitely making a comeback.
"He has now proved he can win tournaments again on the PGA Tour. And even before his win, a month ago at the Honda Classic he shot his lowest ever final round in a PGA tournament. I think Tiger goes into this Masters really believing he has got a chance to win.
"The only worry for me was the left knee. I think it's five operations he has had on his left knee and if it had crumbled this time around I would have said he is toast but it seems to be standing up to the pace.
"He played eight rounds of golf last week. He must be strong enough to do it. Watch this space. I think Tiger is on his way back to the number one spot."
