WWE star Brock Lesnar says you have to be ‘half bats*** crazy’ to fight in UFC and discusses relationships with Vince McMahon and Dana White

Brock Lesnar made a pretty penny from his UFC career, but he believes he probably should have been earnt more.
Fighter pay in the UFC is a hot topic right now, but after Israel Adesanya signed a new deal coined ‘one of the most lucrative deals in company history’ it seems as though things are moving in the right direction.
Adesanya is a big star in UFC. Outside of Conor McGregor, he’s arguably one of UFC’s biggest names and draws, but it’s the pay that fighters get at the other end of the card that has also been a longtime concern.
When talking to , Lesnar says he had a good working relationship with White, but should have taken home more cash.
“Dana’s alright,†Lesnar said when addressing his relationship with the UFC president. “I’ve got a lot of money from him. I probably should have got paid more, maybe.â€
Lesnar arrived in UFC a big star already. He had taken the wrestling world by storm from 2002-04 during one of the hottest periods in pro wrestling history. He already had a big name and was paid like it.
He had a heavyweight title shot in his third UFC fight and he has two cards over the magic one million buys mark. Only McGregor has more than two.
Lesnar has made the bulk of his vast fortune in WWE as a part-time performer but he struggles to compare White to WWE chairman Vince McMahon, mostly because Vince is like a father figure.
“I really can’t compare the two guys,†Lesnar said. “Honestly, my relationship with Vince is so different than it is with Dana over the years. Vince and I have had a love-hate relationship for the last 20 years, but it’s been good. We have a lot of water under the bridge. I have a lot of respect for both.
“But dealing with Dana, it’s just a totally different business approach. I met Vince when I was younger. I look at Vince more as a father figure actually.
"Because I’ve learned a lot of things from him, and I was able to carry those things over and handle business with Dana. Vince is a self-made person, so is Dana. Took the company and made it public.â€
Lesnar had to officially retire from UFC in 2019. The former heavyweight champion had wanted to return and face Daniel Cormier, but ultimately, he did not expand on his nine-fight record and his last-ever fight took place in 2016.
A bout of diverticulosis derailed Lesnar's formidable UFC career, and that's when he found wrestling again.
Lesnar took the better option in WWE. A dangerous, but predetermined art where he makes massive money for sporadic appearances. He even admits you have to be a little crazy to fight in UFC.
“It’s a different game entering the octagon,†Lesnar said. “I’m telling you, you’ve got to be half bats*** crazy. You do.
“I ordered an octagon so I didn’t have the first jitters of getting in that octagon. I’m like ‘Dana, I want an octagon'. Boom, ship it off to Brock, so I could fight in it, practice in it. But then you’re in front of 20,000 people and they shut the door, and it’s like, OK, here we go.â€
