Conor McGregor has got himself in trouble once again after he was arrested on Tuesday evening, and UFC fans have loved arch rival Nate Diaz's reaction to the Notorious' latest run-in with the law.

The Irish star has been charged by police for alleged dangerous driving in west Dublin. He was driving his £140,000 Bentley Continental GT.

The UFC box office sensation tweeted on Thursday morning a simple thumbs up in reaction to the news suggesting that everything is fine.

He later tweeted an explanation in a video clip, after a recording of McGregor being pulled over by police emerged on social media.

He said: “Undertaking? That is the auxiliary lane on Dublin’s M50. I was preparing to take the exit that takes me to my gym.”

McGregor will appear before a district court next month.

Old rival Nate Diaz, whom McGregor has shared the octagon with twice and to record numbers, reacted to the news on Twitter.

After revealing he’s been looking for a UFC fight for seven months, Diaz added another post.

"PS, All you fighters need to stop gettin arrested for stupid s*** ur acting like animals irresponsible lil kids get ur s*** together. Drive safe please and act right. F*******.”

UFC fans appreciated Diaz’s public service announcement, but also found it funny that the Stockton southpaw had to be the voice of reason.

A spokesperson for McGregor explained the incident, saying: “Mr McGregor was driving to the gym when he was stopped by gardaí for alleged road traffic violations.

"He passed the drug and alcohol tests taken at the station.”

McGregor has just begun stepping up his training for his UFC return that UFC boss Dana White told talkSPORT is likely to be in the autumn.

The Notorious suffered a broken leg at UFC 264 last July against Dustin Poirier, but is hellbent on returning to the octagon.

He recently told Mac Life - his own media outlet - that he wants to face Kamaru Usman and become the welterweight champion.

Usman is definitely facing Leon Edwards next and that fight is likely to happen in July during UFC’s International Fight Week, providing Usman’s hand heals properly from surgery he underwent in February.

If that is the case, McGregor could potentially face the winner three months or so later.

Let’s hope he can stay out of trouble for his UFC return.
