‘I see me finishing the fight’ – Danny Roberts expects to secure a stoppage win over Francisco Trinaldo at UFC 274 before fighting in London on July 23

Exciting welterweight contender Danny Roberts is the lone UK representative at UFC 274 in Arizona this weekend, and he's determined to put on a show.
‘Hot Chocolate’ is hoping he’ll make it three wins in a row against MMA veteran Francisco Trinaldo on Saturday night, before moving on to fight at the O2 Arena in London when the UFC returns to this side of the pond in July.
Roberts was originally set to travel to Rio to take on Brazil native Trinaldo. The fight will now take place on neutral grounds but that’s not necessarily music to the ears of the former Cage Warriors champion, who says he relishes going into hostile territory.
“Listen, when it comes to that type of stuff, I’m a gangster for that,” Roberts told talkSPORT. “I don’t give a s***. I'll fight anyone anywhere, in their backyard. You know, Germans in Germany, Russians in Russia. I love all that, I love being the underdog."
At 43 years old, Trinaldo is one of the oldest fighters on the UFC roster, but the Brazilian appears to be aging like a fine wine and has picked up four wins in his last five fights.
Roberts is certainly not overlooking his UFC 274 opponent but is confident he’ll pick up a stoppage win to earn himself a spot on the UFC London card.
“I see so many openings for me to get the finish,” he said. “I see sloppiness by him. I see clinical striking on my part, and I see me finishing the fight. Every time this guy pops into my mind, there hasn’t been once where I haven’t ended the fight before the final bell."
In an ideal world, Roberts will see his KO prediction come true at UFC 274, before quickly turning around for a fight on July 23.
“UFC 274 is my first protocol,” he said. “I'm going to get that done and then after that, I’ve already spoke to my agent and Sean Shelby, we’re looking to line something up quick
“So, like I say, keep this (face) unmarked and fresh, the body good and healthy and UFC London. Yeah, I’m hopefully looking to get myself on that card.
