Heart-warming moment Julianna Pena’s daughter has her mum’s back at UFC 277 weigh-in ahead of rematch with Amanda Nunes

Fighters often bring back up on stage in the case of frosty face-offs, but the only support Julianna Pena needed was her four-year-old daughter.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Pena and Amanda Nunes will clash in the octagon at UFC 277 in a battle for the bantamweight title.

This will not be the first time the pair have fought, as they went toe to toe in December last year and after Nunes dominated the opening exchanges, Pena managed to rally and win by submission to pull off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history.

In the rematch, Pena will need all the help she can get to achieve yet another shocking victory and it seems her daughter will be by her side every step of the way.

As Pena stepped up on stage to face-off with Nunes after the weigh-ins, her daughter, Isabella, could be seen standing right by her side in a fighting pose, staring down the Brazilian with every bit as much intensity as her mother.

Posting on Instagram later, the 32-year-old simply wrote: "A family affair" alongside a picture of her daughter.

UFC journalist, Ariel Helwani, said the moment gave him 'chills', calling the moment 'absolutely amazing.'

Pena herself also seems to have a steely focus going into the fight, as she said: "I am going to punch, kick, pull her hair. I'm going to bite her, I'm going to gouge her eyeballs out if I have to.

"I'm literally going to do everything in there. Trust me when I say I am ready and willing to die. Whatever it takes, I'm going to do whatever it takes."

But she will face a determined Nunes, who will be desperate to get the belt back.

She is still the featherweight champion and wants 'champ champ' status.

“Life is like that, sometimes not everything goes your way,” she said of her defeat. “Now I’m back here to get my title back Saturday.

“You guys, make sure you watch that. I’m going to become a double champ again.”
