UFC 204 fight card: Bisping vs Henderson to take place in Manchester in October

Michael Bisping vs Dan Henderson

Britain’s first UFC champion Michael Bisping will defend his middleweight crown against Dan Henderson in Manchester, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced.

The 8 October fight will see a rematch of the pair’s 2009 meeting where the 45-year-old American beat Bisping with a brutal knockout.

“Bisping and Henderson is a fight fans really love and it’s a fight Mike wanted personally,” UFC kingmaker Dane White has said.

The UFC president also added the Brit's opponent “absolutely wanted” the fight.

Bisping, 37, has been with the organisation since 2006 after winning series three of reality TV show the Ultimate Fighter, which earned him a contract with the company in the process.

He finally landed that coveted title in June 2016 at UFC 199 when he beat Luke Rockhold.

Henderson has revealed he is ready to retire after the Manchester fight, so will be aiming to bow out on a high.
