‘He was talking s***’ – MMA legend Nate Diaz and UFC president Dana White reminisce about the time they almost got into a drunken fight in a nightclub

Nate Diaz has been reminiscing about some of the good times ahead of what many expect to be his final UFC fight.
The MMA legend will complete his current UFC contract this weekend when he takes on Khamzat Chimaev in a five-round, non-title fight at UFC 279 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Even though he has spent 15 years with the promotion, Diaz has shown no interest in signing a new deal and is excited about exploring what promises to be a lucrative free agency.
Ahead of his UFC departure, Diaz has revealed that he and UFC president Dana White almost got into a fight in 2014 during one of their many heated business debates.
“I almost beat up Dana White in a club one time here too, you should’ve seen it,” Diaz said with a chuckle during a recent interview with .
“He was talking s***. You should ask him. This guy was talking s***. He was talking s*** and I was arguing with him. I was mad at him and I shouldn’t have been mad at him, I understand business.
“It was a long time ago when Gilbert [Melendez] did The Ultimate Fighter. Everybody had got out of the show and then we went to the club with Dana and they were having a big afterparty, and then Dana’s all, ‘What’s up, motherf*****?’
“I was like, what’s up? And he’s telling me about, ‘What do you want?’ I was like, ‘What the f*** do you think I want? More money and more f****** better fights than everyone here.’”
The coy UFC boss responded to the story after the latest episode of Contender Series.
“Allegedly. Allegedly. We were drinking. Does anybody else have any other questions?” White said with a smile and a laugh.
Although they have had their differences through the years, White insists he has nothing but respect for Diaz and will wish him well if opts to leave the UFC after fighting Chimaev.
“What more could I ask of Nate Diaz? You know, if Nate is ready to make this his last fight, I wish him all the best in the world,” he added.
“It’s been fun. It’s really been fun dealing with those two. At certain times, it was whatever, but looking back, the Diaz Brothers have been an absolute blast.
“They’re legends in this sport. They’re legends in this company. These days come with all the guys. If that’s what Nate wants, then, yeah, we wish him the best.”
