Khamzat Chimaev has not endeared himself to fans ahead of UFC 279 after missing weight for his now cancelled clash with Nate Diaz.

The Swedish-born fighter came in 7.5 lbs overweight for his fight with Diaz and so has subsequently been moved to fighting Kevin Holland on the undercard, while the main event is now Diaz vs Tony Ferguson.

UFC fans did not take kindly to Chimaev missing weight by so much, as he was loudly booed while being interviewed by Joe Rogan.

Chimaev could not be heard over the deafening noise of the crowd, as he responded by flipping them off.

The only decipherable words that could be made out were when he shouted: "Motherf******, shut up!"

After the incident, Chimaev took to Twitter to jokingly pin the blame for missing weight on his fellow UFC fighter, friend and teammate, Darren Till.

He posted a picture of two larger men with a likeness to himself and Till, tagging the Liverpudlian with the caption: "It's his fault."

This all comes at the end of what has been a chaotic week in the UFC, as the organisation's president, Dana White, had to cancel the press conference on Thursday after a number of brawls broke out backstage.

It began when Chimaev reportedly kicked Holland, which led to a melee between both men's teams.

Later on the Swede also clashed with Diaz, as water bottles were thrown.
