Nate Diaz believes Khabib Nurmagomedov ducked a rematch with Conor McGregor by retiring in 2020.

Nurmagomedov’s defended his lightweight title with a dominant four-round submission win over his biggest rival at UFC 229 in October 2018.

The build-up to the fight was one of the most hostile in MMA history and saw ‘The Eagle’ slap one of McGregor’s teammates and ‘Notorious’ sentenced to community service for taking revenge by attacking a bus containing his nemesis.

When the fight was over, things got even uglier as Nurmagomedov scaled the Octagon wall to confront Dillon Danis before a mass brawl broke out between both teams.

The MMA star shockingly retired in 2020 after unifying the division against interim champion Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, annoying McGregor who was insistent on a rematch.

Last week, the former dual-weight UFC champion’s new Netflix documentary was released and showed previously unseen footage related to his rivalry with Nurmagomedov.

After watching ‘McGregor Forever’ a fan page with over 72,000 Twitter followers accused Khabib of using retirement to ‘duck’ a second fight with McGregor.

"After watching the new McGregor documentary I can confidently say that Khabib ducked the rematch,” McGregorRousey wrote.

Diaz voiced surprising support for the Irishman by agreeing with the fan page post.

"Yes, Kabibs a p****,” he responded.

The legendary little brother of Nick Diaz has some history with Nurmagomedov, who he once branded a ‘bully’ after an altercation at the World Series of Fighting (now the Professional Fighters League) in 2015.

Several years later, Diaz explained that Khabib and a group of his friends were making fun of him, so he retaliated by slapping the 29-0 fighter in a now infamous incident.

The California native has fought McGregor twice and they’ve had their fair share of angry exchanges, but the two men clearly have an underlying respect for each other.

McGregor is backing Diaz to pull off the upset when he makes his boxing debut against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Utah on August 5.

Diaz is now supporting his rival in his feud with Nurmagomedov, but will soon go back to trading insults with McGregor as they're currently tied with one win each and desperate to settle the score in a trilogy bout.
