Conor McGregor forced to ask Dana White what happens if he makes Ultimate Fighter history by losing every fight following seventh defeat

Conor McGregor is about to make Ultimate Fighter history for all the wrong reasons.
Ahead of this week’s episode, McGregor’s team of prospects had suffered six consecutive defeats against Michael Chandler’s group of UFC veterans.
Unfortunately, things didn’t get any better for ‘Notorious’ in fight seven as Landon Quinones suffered a quick submission defeat against Jason Knight.
Only one fight is remaining and it’s highly likely that McGregor will see all eight of his contestants fall short at the quarter-final stage and make TUF history in the process.
As the Octagon cleared, the former dual-weight UFC champion entered it and walked across to speak with Dana White about the possibility of his team losing an eighth straight fight.
McGregor begrudgingly asked: “What happens if it’s a clean sweep?"
White shrugged and turned to executive producer Gary DeFranco who revealed McGregor will have to hope members of Chandler’s team want to switch sides.
“Well, it’s never happened before,” he said.
“We see if anybody wants to go over to the other team.”
"Got it," White replies.
Meanwhile, McGregor doesn’t verbally react to the news but shows his frustration by punching the Octagon wall and walking away from the conversation.
Once backstage, the UFC boss reflected on what had just happened and the prospect of McGregor finding himself in The Ultimate Fighter record books next week.
“Team McGregor is now 0-7,” White said to a camera.
“You can see it is starting to weigh on Conor. He came over to me and asked me, ‘What happens if his team losses every quarter-final fight?'
“I said, ‘Honestly, I don’t know.' It’s crazy because it’s never happened in 30 seasons of The Ultimate Fighter.
Even though everyone is preparing for the worst, McGregor could still save face if Rico DiSciullo is able to upset the odds against no.1 ranked bantamweight contestant Hunter Azure.
Azure (10-3) won two and lost two during his UFC stint that came to an end following a split decision defeat against British fight star Jack Shore in April 2021.
DiSciullo boasts an 11-2 record but got knocked out when he fought Montel Jackson on Dana White’s Contender Series June in 2018 before stepping away from MMA for several years.
The 36-year-old returned to the sport last year and picked up back-to-back stoppage wins to earn his place on season 31 of the MMA reality show.
