Conor McGregor hints at jump to middleweight after Sean Strickland claims shock UFC title win
Conor McGregor seemingly revealed plans he is jumping up to middleweight for his UFC return.
McGregor posted a series of messages on X, formerly known as Twitter, following Sean Strickland's shock title win over Israel Adesanya.

The Notorious seemingly wasted no time in hinting at a possible move up to the 185lbs division.
That would be a huge jump from the weight classes we have been used to seeing him.
He entered the UFC, and won his first title, at the 145lbs featherweight division.
The 35-year-old moved up to 155lbs where he won the lightweight division.

He made his welterweight debut, 170lbs, in 2016 when he fought Nate Diaz.
It has been more than two years since McGregor fought in the UFC, suffering a nasty leg break in his doctor stoppage defeat to Dustin Poirier.
His return to the Octagon continues to be delayed with the latest updates suggesting that he is yet to return to the USADA testing pool.
However, this has not stopped him hinting at his next moves in the promotion.

One fan asked him: "Conor move up to 185 this is ur [sic] chance."
He replied: "No mess, I'd fancy it."
Another asked if he would be back at 170, and he said: "185."
McGregor has also been speaking a lot about Strickland on his social media following his shock victory at UFC 293.
In one video, the new middleweight champion speaks about the car he drives.
Strickland said: "Name one UFC champion that drives a Hyuandi Accent. I ain't trading that in, I paid $16,000."
McGregor quoted that clip and said: "I give him less than a month he trading that motor in hahaha."
It remains to be seen when he will actually return to the Octagon.
He told talkSPORT in August that he still plans to fight in 2023 against Michael Chandler, before facing Justin Gaethje and Nate Diaz in 2024.
