Ian Garry is done chasing a fight with Colby Covington.

The welterweight contender has been desperately trying to secure a scrap with Covington, who he wanted to face on Conor McGregor’s comeback card on June 29.

However, Garry’s now turned his attention to other options for UFC 303 after learning ‘Chaos’ is still injured from his title defeat to Leon Edwards last December.

"Colby is officially out,” he told Adam Catterall in an interview for .

“He sustained an injury in December that [means] he won’t be medically cleared until September. I don’t believe it for a f***ing second, I think he’s running.

“The UFC offered me Colby Covington. Colby is running, in my mind, he doesn’t want none of this… I’m far, far superior to him in every single way.

“Colby runs. Colby is a b****. It’s in his DNA, he can’t help himself.”

Garry grew up watching McGregor and makes no secret about being a fan.

The 26-year-old is determined to fight on the same card as ‘Notorious’, so much so that he is willing to risk his #7 ranking by taking on anyone the UFC offers.

Unfortunately, he’s finding it tough to find someone willing to face him next month.

Garry added: “It’s [UFC] 303 or nothing for me.”

“We’ve got the potential to make a lot of Irish history here. It was me shouting for me and Colby to be co-main and McGregor to be main event.

"Colby’s running, he’s out. There’s other people that have been offered [to fight me at UFC 303] and they are running too.

"They’re all coming up with excuses. At the end of the day, it’s whoever wants to show up across from me in that Octagon on June 29.

“I’m sick of this ranking stuff. I’m in a position where everyone above me is injured and then Leon [Edwards] and Belal [Muhammad] are facing off against each other.

“I have no interest in fighting anyone below me but I’m kind of in a position where I have no choice, other than to wait, for example.

“The last thing I want to do is wait. Anyone that is willing to stand across the Octagon from me on June 29th can get their ass whooped.”

‘The Future’ claims he’s agreed to face Michael ‘Venom’ Page at UFC 303 and is currently waiting to hear if the British knockout artist will accept the call.

“I’ve said yes,” Garry said when the prospect of a fight with Page was brought up.

“I’ve said yes to that name, him and his coaches are deciding because he feels a bit heavy, he’s a bit heavy to make weight in seven weeks’ time, but I’ve said yes.”

Garry faces an anxious wait to see if he'll get to fight at UFC 303.

Surely there's a welterweight out there who fancies their chances of upsetting the undefeated Irishman during one of the biggest MMA events of all time.
