‘Kicks sound like gunshots’ – Joe Rogan stuns UFC fans as he smashes heavy bag in new training footage

UFC legend Joe Rogan has proved he can still fight in his fifties.
The popular podcaster and MMA commentator is usually the one marvelling at the impressive striking skills on display in the Octagon.
However, he’s currently being praised by fans and fighters after sharing a video that shows him destroying a heavy bag with punches and kicks.
The 56-year-old was a decorated taekwondo fighter and he even dabbled in kickboxing during his teenage years – but he gave all that up to focus on a comedy career.
Several decades later, he’s overcome a serious knee injury and can crack the bag without feeling any pain for the first time in years.
“I went without kicking for a whole year to deal with a knee injury and thanks to Ways2Well it’s now 100% pain free,” Rogan captioned an showing him whacking a heavy bag.
“The video of me hitting that bag was yesterday, and in the past if I did that the next day my knee would be sore, but today I feel absolutely perfect. That bag is 130 pounds and the amount of torque generated by kicking full blast is just insane.
“It’s one of my favourite things to do and the best way ever to release stress, but before Ways2Well it felt like every time I did it it just f***ed my knee up more. I can’t thank them enough.”
Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm was one of the fighters impressed by Rogan’s ability, she commented: “Boom!!!! Nobody wants to be at the receiving end of those kicks.”
Rogan’s video was shared on various other social media platforms and quickly went viral as fans expressed their shock at his skills.
One person tweeted: “I felt that first kick through the phone.”
Another said: “Those leg kicks sound like gunshots.”
A third person added: “I can hear the bag scream for mercy.”
“Someone else joked: “Joe Rogan vs Jake Paul next.”
The likelihood of Rogan making a return to fighting is slim to none.
Fans will have to make do with him sharing snippets of his knockout power in the form of social media videos, which should come fairly frequently now that he’s fully fit.
