Dana White and Conor McGregor unite for Donald Trump as MMA community voice support after rally shooting

Dana White and Conor McGregor have voiced their support for Donald Trump after he survived an assassination attempt.
The former American president, who hopes to be re-elected in November, was shot in the ear during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday evening.
Footage of the incident shows Trump clutching his ear before dropping to the floor as gunfire erupts and security agents jump to his aid.
The 78-year-old remained on the floor for several scary moments before getting back to his feet and punching the air while repeatedly saying the word ‘Fight’.
Trump, who had blood smeared on the right side of his face, was then ushered off stages to be checked over by medical professionals.
The gunman and a member of the rally audience died at the scene.
White is long-time friends with Trump, who is a massive MMA fan and often sits cageside to watch fights with the UFC CEO.
The MMA mogul spoke in support of Trump before the 2020 election and insisted he is looking forward to standing beside his pal on stage again in a few days’ time.
"I’m on a plane right now flying to Italy and my phone has been blowing up with text messages from people informing me Donald Trump was shot,” White wrote on alongside Trump after the shooting.
“I am absolutely SICK to my stomach and in complete shock. I still don’t know how bad it is or if he’s ok. But [UFC matchmaker] Mick Maynard just sent me this picture and I’m praying President Trump is 100% healthy.
“This image perfectly reflects EXACTLY the man I know Donald Trump to be. He is the toughest, most resilient, AMERICAN BAD ASS on this planet.
“I hope the weak coward that shot him gets what he deserves, and I can’t WAIT to stand up on stage with him on Thursday and introduce him at the Republican National Convention and tell the WORLD exactly the character of the friend and man I KNOW!!”
White’s biggest UFC star, Conor McGregor, also voiced his support for Trump.
He : “A 78-year-old multiple billionaire he should be on a yacht on the med touring golf courses. But he is not. He is in Pennsylvania spitting out bullets! Running for the love of his country! God speed Donald! God bless the United States.”
McGregor has been beefing with Michael Chandler since their fight was announced over a year ago, but they put aside their differences after the shooting.
Chandler replied to his post: “We stand united on this one…”
Sean Strickland, Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal, Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling are just some of the famous fighters who also sent some kind words to Trump.
UFC Denver was going on at the same time the assassination attempt took place, but news quickly filtered through, and 9-2 MMA prospect Evan Edler dedicated his post-fight speech to Trump.
“I heard they just tried to whack my boy Trump,” he said.
“I'm glad that man's okay. Long live Trump. Let's go baby Trump 2024."
