‘See you in 2019’ – Conor McGregor teases potential rematch with Jose Aldo

The Notorious is celebrating the third anniversary of his victory over the Brazilian on Instagram

Conor McGregor teased the possibility of an explosive rematch with Jose Aldo in 2019.

The 'Notorious' is currently serving an indefinite suspension for his part in the brawl which took place after his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

However, this has not stopped fans and experts alike trying to predict who the colourful superstar will face next.

A rematch with Nurmagomedov seems unlikely given the manner of the defeat, while Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone is adamant he has signed his half of a deal for his very own 'red panty night' with McGregor.

But the 30-year-old's latest post on Instagram suggests he may look to go a different direction.

McGregor put up slow motion footage from his Featherweight title fight in 2015 at UFC 194 with Jose Aldo which showed him landing several hammer fists to the face of his dazed opponent.

He captioned it: "3 years ago today I unified the 145lb titles. I named these final blows “coffin nails”. See you in 2019."

The Irish superstar infamously ended Aldo's unbeaten reign at the top of the featherweight division three years ago in just 13 seconds by landing a trademark straight left to the jaw.

Aldo has always maintained he wants a rematch - be it at his natural Featherweight limit or moving up to Lightweight.
