Dana White drops Brock Lesnar Vs Daniel Cormier UFC bombshell for the summer that could ruin WWE plans

Brock Lesnar wants it. UFC wants it. Daniel Cormier wants it. Does the WWE want it?

Brock Lesnar is the WWE Universal champion and is just under three weeks from facing Seth Rollins for that title at WrestleMania 35.

However, UFC president Dana White - who has just signed on to continue his role for another seven years - has suggested that UFC are trying to make Lesnar versus Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight title this summer.

In an interview with Megan Olivi, White said both Lesnar and Cormier want the fight and so does the UFC.

"Brock Lesnar is doing his thing with WWE. One of the things about Brock Lesnar is, when that guy is ready to fight, he is not shy. He will call me and he will let me know. To be honest with you, I'm hoping to hear from that guy this summer," White said.

"I think both guys really want it, Cormier wants it bad. I know Cormier wants it bad, and Brock wants it bad. So, when two fighters want to fight each other as bad as these two do, I think it's going to happen," White said.

Lesnar's commitments to the WWE make things tricky. After 'Mania, The Beast will appear at WWE's next event in Saudi Arabia in May. Then, rumours suggest he will return to SmackDown Live for its debut on FOX in October.

That leaves June, July, August and September to train for the fight and actually get in the octagon. That also means Lesnar missing SummerSlam, usually a staple of his WWE run.

It 's possible, but it's a tight window with little room for error.

According to Cormier himself, if Lesnar cannot make the fight happen his end, a trilogy fight with light heavyweight champion Jon Jones - who is 2-0 over Cormier - is not on the cards.

"I talked to the boss (Dana White) the other day and he’s talking to me about fights and Brock Lesnar and Jon Jones and everybody, and I said, ‘If Lesnar doesn’t go, Stipe has to be first. He deserves it, and I’ve said it from the beginning.

"If it ain’t Brock, I want to fight Stipe Miocic and give him what’s rightfully his, a rematch for this title.’ He’s going to get beat again, but at least he’ll get a chance to fight for that belt again," said Cormier.

Lesnar is 41-years-old, but Cormier is not far behind at 39. DC has long stated that 2019 will be his final year in the octagon. So time is running out for several dream matches in the UFC.
