Ortiz has not fought since beating Chuck Liddel last November while Del Rio's last fight in the Octagon was in 2010

UFC legend Tito Ortiz is set to fight former WWE wrestler Alberto Del Rio at upcoming MMA event, Combate Americas, .
The bout will be contested at a 210-pound catchweight, with a date and venue for the fight still to be determined.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Ortiz (20-12-1) came out of retirement last November to beat Chuck Liddell in their trilogy bout, under the Golden Boy MMA banner.
Prior to that fight, he had been signed to Bellator, where he submitted Chael Sonnen in the first round in January 2017 and has won four of his past five fights since leaving the UFC in 2012.

Ortiz, 44, is credited with increasing the popularity of mixed martial arts during the previous decade, thanks to his brash persona and exciting style.
Del Rio, 42, (9-5) has not fought in MMA since 2010 and is most famous for his time in the WWE, where he wrestled between 2009 to 2014 and then 2015 to 2016 and was a two-time WWE champion and two-time WWE World Heavyweight champion.
His most famous fight came in 2003 in Pride, where he was brutally knocked out with a head kick by Mirko CroCop.
“The fight is going to happen,” vice president of operations and communications Mike Afromowitz said.
“I came up with the idea a few months ago, after Alberto had expressed his intention of wanting to fight for Combate Americas, and brought the idea to my boss Campbell McLaren.
"We went out to both camps and have put this fight together. It’s on.”
