'White pressured me into trash talk' - Weidman
Chris Weidman says he was under pressure from UFC boss Dana White to launch a verbal tirade on Anderson Silva before the fight at UFC 162.
Weidman said in a recent appearance on : “[Dana said] ‘You’re not promoting the f*cking fight. Ticket sales aren’t looking good, pay-per-view numbers aren’t looking good already'.
"So I hear this and I was in my house and I was like a ghost.
“I felt super white and anxious because I’m about to be someone I’m not used to being at all. I have to talk trash now.
"I’m like f*ck, I hated this feeling. ‘Why can’t I go out there and fight and win. That’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to beat this guy. Isn’t that enough?’ It wasn’t."
Alistair Overeem shows off his stitched up lip
The UFC star revealed his surgically-repaired lip, which was torn open by Jairzinho Rozenstruik in Washington earlier this month.
Overeem was seconds from winning the fight before a huge right hand from his opponent did brutal damage to his lip.
"It was a nice fight," Overeem says in the video posted by ESPN. "It was a good scrap.
"I was winning all rounds, just doing my thing. Too fast of a stoppage if you ask me. I was not out. I was knocked down, getting right back up."
UFC pundit Bisping says Covington's broken jaw is 'karma'
Colby Covington certainly paid the price in his quest for UFC gold after an X-ray revealed the extent of the damage to his broken jaw.
The California native suffered the gruesome injury during the early stages of UFC 245 main-event defeat to Kamaru Usman on Sunday morning.
And it appears some believe the fighter got what was coming to him.
“He even said that Marty Fakenewsman was going to be drinking through a straw because he was gonna break his jaw,” Bisping said on a recent episode of his .
“That is karma right then and there. It was a just stoppage. [Referee Marc] Goddard did a good job, the eye poke was real. Listen, it was a great fight.”
