UFC legend Glover Teixeira tried to fight the referee after Anthony Johnson KO’d him in 13 seconds and knocked his tooth out

With Anthony Johnson reportedly returning to the octagon in the near future, what better time to celebrate the heavy-hitter’s greatest knockouts?

‘Rumble’ has told he is coming back to ‘bury everybody’ at heavyweight after a three-year hiatus from the sport.

After walking away after his second submission loss to Daniel Cormier for the light-heavyweight title, the decision to retire was seen as justified as it appeared Johnson just could not beat the man.

But before he got his title shot, the Georgia-native demolished a host of top contenders in the 205lbs division, including none other than Teixeira at UFC.

With Jon Jones absent from the title picture, Cormier was the man to beat in the light-heavyweight division and this bout at UFC 202 would determine his rightful contender. It would provide a definitive answer.

Johnson knocked Teixeira in just 13 seconds in Las Vegas, knocking the Brazilian’s tooth out in the process before Dan Miragliotta stepped in to end the bout.

‘Rumble’ had hit Teixieira so hard, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist was so disorientated he actually tried to fight referee Miragliotta by wrestling him to the mat.

He told AG Sports after the bout: "How many times have you seen someone knock somebody out in 13 seconds? I know about my potential and I wasn't there to prove anything to anyone.

“Jiu-jitsu is my strong suit, but I trust my wrestling and my striking. I know about my potential, but I didn't have time.

“The fight starts standing, so you have to strike. It's just like what they told Aldo when he lost to McGregor. There was no time to react, it happens.

“To be honest, he was the strongest guy to ever hit me. It was the first KO I ever suffered. I had been knocked down in training before where my vision went dark for a little bit, but never like that.

“He hits too hard and the gloves are very small. Depending on how it hits you, it's over."
