Former UFC champion Jon Jones arrested on misdemeanour domestic violence charge just hours after being inducted into Hall of Fame

Jon Jones was arrested on Friday morning after being charged with battery domestic violence and injuring and tampering with a vehicle.
The former light-heavyweight champion was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on Thursday evening, with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department apprehending the 34-year-old less than 12 hours later.
‘Bones’ was honoured by the UFC for his thrilling fight with Alexander Gustafsson back in 2013, a fight which many consider to be the greatest title fight in the history of the company.
Speaking to members of the media before the ceremony, Jones claimed he was in a great place mentally before his imminent debut at heavyweight in 2022.
“Right now, for the first time in my whole career, I’m actually training consistently,” Jones said.
“I feel in better shape now than I ever did before. I’m sleeping better, eating better, drinking less – alcohol – and I feel really good.”
Jones (26-1-0) is undefeated inside the Octagon, but has a history of issues out of it. He was stripped of the 205lbs belt in 2015 after being arrested on hit and run felony charges.
He tested positive for banned substances clomiphene and letrozole in his comeback win against Ovince St-Preux and was duly pulled from his UFC 200 bout against Daniel Cormier.
When they finally fought in 2017 at UFC 217, Jones again tested positive for banned substance Turinabol and he was then arrested in March 2020 for driving under the influence, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container, and no proof of insurance.
