Button steals victory from Vettel in thrilling Montreal Grand Prix

Jenson Button claimed a sensational win in the Canadian Grand Prix after a slip by race leader Sebastian Vettel.
Rain saw the Montreal race start under the safety car and in the opening exchanges Lewis Hamilton was at the centre of all the action before being taken out of the race by eventual winner Button when he attempted to overtake his McLaren teammate.
Button also had to serve a penalty for speeding behind the safety car and after more heavy rain the race was red flagged on lap 25.
Two hours later the race resumed and it looked likely it was to be another Vettel win.
But on the final lap Jenson Button dramatically passed the German, who had led from the start, when the Red Bull driver made a catastrophic error going into a corner.
Vettel crept over the line two seconds after Button’s McLaren and was followed by his Australian teammate Webber and Schumacher in his Mercedes.
Renault’s Vitaly Petrov claimed fifth place in Montreal while Ferrari’s Felipe Massa sensationally pipped Kamui Kobayashi to the line in sixth with perfect use of the new DRS system.
