Ferrari will hope that signing Lewis Hamilton will help them end their long Constructors' Championship drought.

It has been nearly 20 years since the Italian giants won a Formula One title, while Hamilton will be looking for another Drivers' Championship.

It's a partnership that could prove to be a dream move for both parties should they both deliver, with Hamilton set to make the move in 2025.

However, deals like this don't always work out in F1 and the pressure on both the team and Hamilton will be enormous.

When did Ferrari last win the Championship?

In Formula One history, there hasn't been a team as successful as Ferrari.

They have won the Constructors' Championship 16 times, with the first in 1961 and the latest in 2008.

Therefore, it's been nearly 16 years since the Italian giants were last crowned champions.

On that occasion, it was Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa who led Ferrari to glory, with Hamilton winning the Drivers' Championship.

It's been 17 years since the Italians won both the Constructors and Drivers, with Raikkonen claiming victory in 2007.

How many Drivers' Championships does Hamilton have?

That 2008 win was Hamilton's first and only title with McLaren.

He then waited six years for his next one with Mercedes in 2014.

Hamilton proceeded to win five of the next six seasons to move onto seven Drivers' Championships, meaning he's level with the legendary Michael Schumacher.

Many people would argue he should already have eight after being controversially denied the title in 2021 by Max Verstappen.

Since then, Mercedes have been a long way off Red Bull, and Hamilton has had to make do with podium finishes rather than wins.

Ferrari have been the closest to Red Bull in the last two seasons and could have won in 2022 if it weren't for poor strategy and reliability issues.

Therefore, if Ferrari can continue to improve and deliver a competitive car in 2025, Hamilton should stand a great chance of winning an eighth Drivers' Championship.

Plus, he could be the man to get Ferrari back on top, which would surely cement his legacy as one of the best F1 drivers.

Certainly, it's an intriguing prospect, and both parties will have their sights set on glory.
