The NFL returns for its biggest ever season on talkSPORT – with more live coverage than ever before

American football fans will be able to enjoy more coverage of the sport than ever before on the talkSPORT network, as the 2022 NFL season kicks off this week.
Starting with exclusive commentary of the opening game of the year on Thursday, September 8 - where the defending Super Bowl champions the Los Angeles Rams face the Buffalo Bills - the talkSPORT network will broadcast over 40 games across the season, up to and including Super Bowl 57.
talkSPORT’s coverage will include EVERY Sunday Night football game, exclusive playoff games, as well as all three London games, and for the first time ever a game played on mainland Europe in Munich, Germany.
In addition, in a unique new agreement this season talkSPORT will be the official broadcast partners of the San Francisco 49ers, carrying over 10 of their regular season games, any potential playoff games, as well as providing exclusive weekly interviews and content from one of the most popular teams here in the UK.
The talkSPORT team includes the return of veteran broadcaster Nat Coombs, who has been anchoring NFL coverage on TV & Radio in the UK for over 15 years, alongside Will Gavin, who has covered the league on talkSPORT since 2012 and hosts the Gridiron Show - one of the UK's leading American Football podcasts.
Britain's first female coach in the NFL and Team GB captain Phoebe Schecter will also return to talkSPORT, joined by a rookie debut from former Pittsburgh Steelers Tight End Christian Scotland-Williamson, as well as plenty of other familiar voices from both sides of the pond.
NFL UK General Manager, Henry Hodgson, said: "We are very pleased to be partnering with talkSPORT again and are thrilled with their commitment to the sport. As well as featuring some of the biggest games of the season, it is exciting to see one of the teams that was recently granted marketing rights in the UK, the San Francisco 49ers, establishing a regular radio presence. I am sure the many 49ers fans in the UK will be thrilled at that news."
NFL Director, International Business Development and Media, Laura Louisy, said: “We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with talkSPORT, whose extensive weekly radio coverage has played a key role in growing NFL fandom in the UK in recent years. We look forward to kicking off talkSPORT’s biggest ever NFL season, providing UK fans with more games and more coverage in 2022/23 than ever before.”
