The Taylor Swift backlash has already begun.

While the NFL reaps the financial rewards of the biggest pop star in the world suddenly being attached to the reigning Super Bowl champions, paying fans are already tiring of everything Swift all the time.

A promotional image of Swift inside MetLife Stadium appeared to be loudly booed during Monday night’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants.

The NFL is so invested in Swift thinking the NFL is cool that the league briefly updated its Instagram account to read, “The chiefs are 2-0 as swifties.”

That odd move created another Swift backlash.

There’s no denying that what was already the biggest sports league in America has received a serious boost in new interest from the passion of the Swifties.

So have the Kansas City Chiefs, who are a perfect 2-0 since Swift turned into a huge fan and started following the team around the country.

An average of 27 million people either watched or streamed the Chiefs versus the New York Jets, which was the NFL’s largest Sunday audience since the last Super Bowl.

That huge number was almost as large as the 2023 season opener between the Detroit Lions and Chiefs.

While some have theorized that Swift following Travis Kelce and Co. everywhere might just be a slick Hollywood promotion – Ryan "Deadpool" Reynolds and Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman also attended Chiefs versus Jets – it’s already clear that some are tiring of Swift overshadowing actual football games.

NBC overindulged in Swift-mania, turning an NFL broadcast into an entertainment update on a singer who regularly sells out NFL stadiums.

There were constant live cuts to Swift, who was allowed to take over the TV, despite not playing a snap or wearing a uniform.

The Chiefs play at Minnesota on Sunday, which should move Patrick Mahomes' team to 4-1, especially if Swift watches Kirk Cousins lead the Vikings' offense.

Kansas City is one of four teams tied atop the AFC, along with Baltimore, Buffalo and Miami.

As for the Monday night game, the Seahawks easily won it 24-3.

The Giants (1-3) have bigger problems to deal with than booing an image of Swift.
