"That’s definitely where you want to get to because I love this sport (and) I want to give back in any way possible when I’m done playing," Mahomes said Wednesday.

"Obviously, I’ll be a Chiefs fan. But at the same time I want to have that competitive edge like I’ve always had my entire life.â€

The league's reigning MVP and Super Bowl champion cited legendary QB and recently retired Tom Brady as an example to follow as Mahomes considers his post-playing options.

"I think Tom is trying to do it right now," said Mahomes, referring to Brady attempting to break into the NFL on the ownership side.

Mahomes is ahead of the game when it comes to the sports business world.

He recently became a part owner of Alpine in Formula One.

"I think everybody can see the appeal," Mahomes said. "I’ve been able to get to a couple races now, seeing the environment, and then obviously watching the 'Drive to Survive' on Netflix you see how
competitive it is.

"Any time you get an opportunity to get in on that, I mean I’m as competitive as anyone can get, so hopefully it can open up to some great opportunities and we are able to go to some of those races and have a little stake in the game.â€

The Chiefs' franchise face is also a part owner of MLB's Kansas City Royals, MLS' Sporting Kansas City, NWSL's Kansas City Current (NWSL) and a pickleball team.

Mahomes is putting a variety of sports pieces together in the hoping of one day owning his own NFL franchise.

"If I can get there, then I might settle down," Mahomes said. "But they make it pretty tough to get to that spot.â€

Then there was his participation in "Quarterback," a fascinating behind-the-scenes TV series that provided viewers an inside look at Mahomes' life on and off the field.

Without F1 and "Drive to Survive," Mahomes wouldn't have opened up another side of himself for the sports and business worlds to see.

"Just seeing how top athletes at that profession can still do this
documentary type series, showing their life but at the same time, they can still compete at the top of their profession," Mahomes said.

"It showed that the best athletes in the world could do it, so I thought I could do that and still focus on the main thing and get to document all this cool stuff we get to do.â€
