Wild Jaguars GTA VI stat shows just how long Jacksonville fans have been waiting for MNF win

The Jacksonville Jaguars' unenviable Monday Night Football streak continues.

This week, the Jags dropped to 8-4 on the season after losing 34-31 to the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime at EverBank Stadium.

The defeat means the Jags have not won a Monday Night Football game since they defeated the Baltimore Ravens 12-7 on October 24, 2011.

Jacksonville fans have now been waiting over twelve years for a MNF win, the same amount of time between Grand Theft Auto V (2013) and Grand Theft Auto VI (2025) being released.

Fans were bringing up the stat after the eagerly anticipated first trailer for the upcoming video game was officially released.

GTA VI has become infamous for its almost never-ending delays and push backs, and yet still Jags fans haven't experienced a MNF win between the fifth and sixth instalments of the game being released.

To be fair to the Jaguars, they haven't had many opportunities to break the streak. Before Monday's game against the Bengals, the last time they played on MNF was twelve years ago on December 5, 2011.

They faced the San Diego Chargers, where they lost 38-14.

The franchise has now played in 16 MNF games since its inception in 1995, and currently have an 8-8 record.

People on social media caught wind of the 'wild' Jaguars MNF-GTA VI stat and couldn't believe there was twelve years between both.

"Woah. That’s actually wild. Let’s go Jags," one fan said.

"This just proves the jags are poverty," a rival fan remarked.

"Really wild there," a third added.

"Wow the jags suck," a fourth wrote.

Doug Pederson's team were dealt a double blow in Monday's loss to the Bengals after Trevor Lawrence hobbled off the field in the fourth quarter.

The Jaguars quarterback suffered a right ankle injury late in the game after teammate Walker Little accidentally stepped on him.

According to ESPN's , initial testing showed that Lawrence sprained his ankle. The 24-year-old is scheduled to undergo additional testing on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury and how much time he will miss.

Lawrence finished the game 22 of 29 for 258 yards with two passing touchdowns and one rushing score. His injury came when the game was tied at 28 apiece.

The Jags eventually forced overtime when Brandon McManus kicked a 40-yard field goal with 26 seconds remaining to make it 31-31.

However, a walkoff field goal from Bengals kicker Evan McPherson gave the visitors the 34-31 victory.

Jacksonville now falls to 8-4 but stays in first place in the AFC South, although they did miss the chance to take over as the top seed in the AFC. The Bengals improved to 6-6 with the win.
