The NFL players on the cusp of pocketing jaw-dropping bonuses on the final day of the regular season

There's a number of NFL stars with an added incentive heading into the regular season finale this weekend.

While the playoff implications are vast, certain players also stand to earn thousands - if not millions - if they achieve various contract incentives in NFL Week 18.

From a financial perspective, players have a lot on the line, and they're often well aware of it too.

Tom Brady famously once stayed in a blowout win to help teammate Rob Gronkowski capture two separate bonuses of $500,000.

Similarly, there are plenty of big performance bonuses up for grabs this year.

Here's some of the stars in line for a potential pay day.

Geno Smith - Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks quarterback is in line for one of the biggest windfalls during Week 18.

Geno gets a $2m bonus if Seattle reach the playoffs.

For that to happen, the 8-8 Seahawks need to beat the four-win Arizona Cardinals and hope the Packers lose to the Bears.

Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield also stands to win big if the stars align on Sunday.

The Bucs QB has a clause in his contract that means his incentives double if the Buccaneers make the playoffs - which will happen if they beat the Panthers.

He also has playing time incentives that topped out at $1 million if he played 85% of the snaps - he's at 99.7% through 17 weeks.

With that doubles clause, Mayfield could make $1 million if the Bucs win, plus he'll get $250,000 for every subsequent playoff win.

DeAndre Hopkins - Tennessee Titans

The veteran Titans wide receiver needs 49 yards against the Jaguars this weekend for a $1m bonus.

He also needs seven more catches for another $250,000.

Additionally, he can also make an extra $250,000 if he hits eight touchdowns for the season (he's currently on six).

Expect to see him get a LOT of the ball in the Titans' final outing of the campaign.

Austin Ekeler - Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers running back needs 110 more yards to get an extra $100,000.

The Bolts have already been eliminated from playoff contention so have nothing to play for.

However, they come up against a playoff-bound Chiefs team who are likely to rest a number of key players - including Patrick Mahomes.

Ekeler could well take advantage of a weakened KC defense.

Chris Jones - Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City defensive tackle needs a single sack to get over 10 to land a $1.25m bonus.

However, the Chiefs are locked in as the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs and may sit a number of starters - including Jones.

That could be a very costly decision for Jones who will no doubt be pleading with head coach Andy Reid to give him a run out.

Jordan Love - Green Pay Packers

The Green Bay signal caller gets a $500,000 bonus if his team make the postseason.

There are various permutations in order for that to happen but crucially both the NFC's No. 6 and 7 spots are still in play for the Packers.

Devin Singletary - Houston Texans

Singletary needs 165 rushing yards against the Colts for a cool $125,000 bonus to end his regular season.

Dalton Schultz - Houston Texans

The Texans may or not be hoping their players hit their incentives depending on how much they want to save themselves in bonuses.

Tight end Schultz needs 60 catches for $250,000 and has 54 heading into the game against Indianapolis.

Baltimore Ravens star Odell Beckham Jr. was one of the players gearing up for a series of juicy bonuses at the end of the season.

Beckham would’ve gone into Saturday’s game against the Steelers needing five receptions for a $250,000 bonus while two touchdowns and 185 yards could have netted him an additional $1.25 million.

However, he was ruled out of the game on Thursday, with the Ravens having already clinched the AFC's top seed and mindful of OBJ's recent injury history.

Leaving that kind of money on the table would be painful for most people but the mercurial WR still managed to see the funny side.

"Don't bet on mine for sure...," he reportedly joked in response to betters backing him because of contract incentives.
