Barkley said that even if he could watch Dolphins-Chiefs, he would still "boycott" it.

"They sold the game for $110 million," he said. "And I know that's a lot of money. But the NFL, they're making $20 billion a year. To screw your fans like that, it's just not cool man, at all."

One of the most outspoken sports analysts in the business didn't let up.

While every other NFL playoff game was available to the public on normal national and cable channels, a much-hyped matchup that features reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and the return of Tyreek Hill to Arrowhead Stadium required a fee for a subscription.

While some attempted to validate the NFL's decision, fans and even some players slammed the league.

"It's a racket, Chuck! Get em!!!" one fan tweeted.

"I'm boycotting the game merely on principle," a second fan posted. "I could buy the streaming service, but my hope is most people won’t subscribe for one game and make them lose some money."

"My prediction: Lowest ratings for an NFL play off EVER!!!" a third fan wrote.

"I’m not paying for Peacock to watch the game," a fourth fan said.
