Super Wild Card Weekend was one of the coldest in NFL history.

Temperatures plummeted to -4°C with a -27°C wind chill in the Kansas City Chiefs'  26-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium, making it the fourth coldest game ever.

Next up for the Chiefs is the Bills in Buffalo - an area recently hit by heavy snowfall and a raging blizzard.

Sunday's matchup against Josh Allen and co. looks to be another bitterly cold one but Travis Kelce has a ingenious way of keeping himself warm when everyone around him is shivering.

His method? He just screams really, really loud multiple times.

NFL cameras picked the future Hall of Famer screaming at the top of his lungs in the sub-zero conditions against the Dolphins.

"I just like screaming right now," he can be heard saying.

"You got to keep it warm, you know what I mean?".

It's unclear why Kelce's unorthodox approach has any scientific basis - perhaps the screaming gets his blood pumped up.

It evidently works for him, though, as he repeatedly did it on the sidelines.

It comes after the two-time Super Bowl winner showed off his bloodied and scratched hands picked up in the Dolphins clash.

The scratches could be seen on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason.

Kelce explained during the podcast that the field at Arrowhead was '100-percent rock hard', and called the cold temperatures 'shocking.'

“When you go out on the field, it’s like, the temperature just drops right now and you feel it in your hands, you feel it in your toes, your face … I could feel my moustache hardening up,” he explained.

“There are certain parts of the field where - I don’t know if it’s just the way the wind hits the stadium or whatnot - [but] it’s colder, it’s icier.

"You knew that it was going to be hard when you hit the ground regardless.”

The tight end also revealed he had to 'run over to the heaters' to warm up his hands and feet to to try and get the feeling back whenever he wasn't in the game.

Kelce and his teammates travel to an icy Buffalo this weekend for a huge Divisional Round clash.

The Bills have had their own weather issues of late - their recent game against the Steelers (which they won 31-17) had to be rescheduled due to thick snow affecting travel plans.

The encounter only went ahead because of the efforts of 'Bills Mafia' who were filmed shovelling snow out of seats prior to kick-off.

Thankfully, Sunday's weather should be less extreme, although Orchard Park, where the Bills' Highmark Stadium is located, is set to be hit by snow in the morning of the Chiefs game.

However, according to the latest weather reports, the afternoon should bring sunny spells and by the time the game comes around the snowfall should have died off.

Still, it's set to be a biting bout between two AFC heavyweights.

If you see Kelce screaming during the game - now you know why.
