Patrick Mahomes addresses his dad’s arrest as judge puts one condition on Super Bowl attendance

Back in the Super Bowl spotlight, Patrick Mahomes revealed little when asked about his father's latest arrest.
Pat Mahomes Sr. was recently arrested in Texas for driving while intoxicated.
It's Pat's third DWI and could lead to jail time for Mahomes' father.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback said that his dad is "doing well" but other than that stuck to the script on media night for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.
“It’s a family matter, so I’ll keep it to the family,†Mahomes said. “That’s all I have to say.â€
According to , a judge who handled Pat's DWI case didn't impose a travel ban as part of bond conditions, allowing Mahomes' father to attend the big game on Sunday if he wants to.
However, Pat "has been barred from possessing or consuming alcohol and/or illegal drugs. He's also been required to have an interlock device on his car -- as well as submit to random testing."
The reported that Mahomes' father "was driving with an open 16-ounce Coors beer in the center console shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday, when he was stopped by police and arrested for driving while intoxicated."
Pat informed police he “had a few beers while watching a game at a local bar."
Mahomes appeared to be in good spirits on Tuesday, sharing center stage with everyone from Travis Kelce and George Kittle to Brock Purdy and Andy Reid.
The league's reigning MVP is aiming for his second consecutive Super Bowl trophy and third world title since entering the NFL in 2017.
“You always have nerves going into the Super Bowl,†Mahomes said. “You have to embrace those nerves. Now it’s about going out and playing the game.â€
While the Chiefs are betting underdogs, few would bet against Mahomes in the big game.
He keeps being compared to Tom Brady, despite the fact that Brady currently has five more Super Bowl rings.
"I’m not even close to halfway, so I haven’t put a lot of thought into it,†Mahomes said. “Your goal is to be the best player you can be, and I know I’m blessed to have a lot of great players around me.
"So right now, I’m going to do whatever I can to beat a great 49ers team and get that third ring. If you ask me that question in 15 years, I’ll see if I can get close to seven, but seven seems like a long ways away still.â€
