Brock Purdy gives painfully awkward response to ‘rude’ Lee Harvey Oswald lookalike question

Social media thinks that Brock Purdy bears an eerie resemblance to Lee Harvey Oswald.
So, of course, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback was asked about the internet theory as his team prepared for Super Bowl LVIII against Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Las Vegas.
During Super Bowl media night, the NFL MVP candidate was asked if he ever hears that he bears a resemblance to Oswald, who assassinated United States President John F. Kennedy in 1963 and whose name is still known 60 years later for a horrible reason.
It was an incredibly weird question to ask Purdy, especially considering that he was inside Allegiant Stadium days before the biggest game in American sports.
But while clearly being taken aback by the query, Purdy handled his response with professionalism and class.
"I haven't," Purdy said. "That's my first time hearing it."
What did the Super Bowl QB think about the social media comparison?
"Uhhhh," said Purdy, drawing out the word.
The physical comparison?
"Uh, yeah, I don't know," Purdy replied, trying to finish what had to be the oddest line of questioning of his football career.
Fans had Purdy's back and weren't a fan of the reporter wasting the QB's time.
"This proves we don’t need a full week of media days for any football game," one fan tweeted.
"Maybe the media portion of Super Bowl week is tooooo long," a second fan posted.
"Seems like a mature kid," a third fan wrote. "They do resemble each other, not sure why it would be brought up in an interview lol."
It's not the first time Purdy has been asked about a famous doppelganger.
Earlier this season Ravens head coach John Harbaugh shared an amusing exchange with the QB after Baltimore's Christmas Day win in San Francisco.
"People say we look alike!" Harbaugh told Purdy during a postgame game exchange between the pair.
16-year-old high-school student Anna Frey shot to fame last year after NFL fans noticed her likeness to Purdy.
Purdy is clearly aware of the viral meme after his brother filmed a TikTok congratulating 'Anna Frey' after this sibling's NFC title win over Detroit.
Purdy has quickly risen from Mr. Irrelevant to a social media sensation.
He led San Francisco to the NFC Championship as a rookie.
This year, Purdy recovered from a serious elbow injury and the 49ers considering the addition of Tom Brady at QB to guide San Francisco back to the Super Bowl.
Christian McCaffrey and Purdy are both MVP candidates for the 49ers.
But only one is a big enough deal to receive completely absurd questions on Super Bowl media day about his youthful look.
