Patrick Mahomes is wasting no time in acquainting himself with his new wide receiver.

The reigning Super Bowl champions have needed an upgrade at wideout for some time and have seemingly done that with the acquisition of former Cardinals WR Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown.

Just a day after signing with the Chiefs as a free agent, Brown was spotted working out with quarterback Patrick Mahomes as they prepare for the 2024 season.

They went through several conditioning drills together with health, performance and player development coach, Bobby Stroupe.

Mahomes was one of the first Chiefs players to react to Brown joining KC, posting three muscle emojis on X which seemed to suggest he was happy with his shiny new pass catcher.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP was apparently a major factor in 'Hollywood' deciding to join the Chiefs.

"Pat was a big part of it, being able to play with Pat, coach Reid, a winning culture," Brown said about joining the Chiefs.

"The offense I felt like I could come in and I could help, I could fit in. All those things played a part, they were strong on me so there was mutual interest, that is very appealing."

Speaking about Mahomes specifically, Brown said: "From the outside looking in, he seems like a guy that is very passionate, and I'm a very passionate person

"He wants to win, [he'll] do everything necessary to win. That's somebody you want to play with, you want to play with someone who will bring the best out of you, that's going to push your game to the next level.

"I feel like he's definitely one of those types of guys."

"The arm talent, the deep arm talent -- it speaks for itself," Brown added. "What can't he do?"

Patrick Mahomes shows he could have made it as a baseball player instead of in the NFL

Mahomes spoke equally highly of Brown, saying he predicts a ton of 'throwing sessions' in their future.

"He just brings a ton of dynamic playmaking ability and I think just being able to add a guy like that who's ready to come in and work and be hungry," Mahomes said.

Brown is signing a one-year, $7 million contract with Kansas City, including a $3 million signing bonus, taking the total deal up to $11 million.

However, there are some interesting caveats to the deal as Brown's $7 million contract has up to $4 million in additional earnable incentives.

The former Ravens man will earn up to $1 million if he scores seven touchdowns next season.

Brown also stands to earn up to $1.5 million in playing time if he plays up to 75 percent of snaps next season.

He can also earn another $1.5 million through yardage - he will make $500K for 500 yards, $625K for 625 yards, $750K for 750 yards and the full $1.5 million if he reaches 1,000 on the season.

Essentially, if Brown has a season where he plays 75% of available snaps, has 1,000 receiving yards and scores seven touchdowns, he'll get the full $4 million in incentives.

NFL fans online reacted to Brown's contract and all agreed that in Mahomes' offense, that $4 million is all but guaranteed.

"Hollywood Brown should nail most of those playing time percentages. Also, I can see Brown with maybe five+ touchdowns and definitely passed 500+ yards. Nice pay days incoming." said one fan.

"He’s getting every bit of that money in the Mahomes offense." added another.

"He'll have 1000 receiving yards by week eight," joked another.

"1000 yards and seven touchdowns is light work when you have Mahomes throwing the ball," a fourth replied.

Brown's Chiefs deal is certainly one that seems to benefit all parties.
