Derrick Henry turned back the clock on Sunday for a vintage King Henry performance.

'King Henry' starred in the win over the Dallas Cowboys, proving his 'body maintenance' budget is well worth the price.

Henry - now 30 - carried the ball 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns, averaging six yards per carry in a performance that let the rest of the league know, he's still got it.

He can thank the $250k-plus he sets aside for his body to remain in pristine condition and elite shape, even as he gets up there in age.

"He spends more than a quarter million dollars on what he calls body maintenance," Tom Rinaldi, FOX Sports' sideline reporter said on Sunday's broadcast.

"No fried food, no dairy, no gluten, no artificial sugars. Doesn't eat until four or five o'clock during the season, maybe has a banana or avocado before practice."

There's being committed and disciplined to your craft, and then there's a 'not eating anything except maybe a banana' until five o'clock type level of commitment and discipline.

The latter is clearly working for Henry.

The ROI he is getting on his $250k 'body maintenance' plan was on full display Sunday.

Running past defenders, planting them in the dirt with his patented stiff-arm, looking spry and explosive, it felt like 2020.

Turning 30 is seen as a death sentence for a running back in the NFL, but with Henry turning 31 this upcoming January, you would never be able to tell.

The way he takes care of himself is not something many professional athletes are willing to do.

Henry spends north of $250k on his body and it is paying off for him and the Ravens

"He's like those huge EV-SUVs, smooth, fast, powerful," starting tight end Mark Andrews said. "He's obsessive."

The longtime Tennessee Titan signed with the Baltimore Ravens in free agency last offseason with the hopes of reinvigorating his game next to two-time league MVP Lamar Jackson.

After a slow start through the first two weeks of the season, Henry gave his first dominant performance in the purple colored jerseys.

Losing two close games to begin the year, the Ravens left little doubt on Sunday who the better team was in Arlington, in large part due to Henry.

The 30-year-old in purple and black found his rhythm on Sunday, which is a scary sign for the rest of the league.

While Henry isn't the only professional athlete to spend a large amount on his body, LeBron James reportedly spends $1.5 million every year to keep his body in prime shape, Henry has carried the torch to the gridiron, following on from the likes of Tom Brady and Russell Wilson.

And it is starting to pay off.

There are certain levels to how you maintain your body as an aging professional athlete, but staying away from fried foods, dairy, gluten and artificial sugars sure seems to be working for Henry.

Baltimore has two huge games against the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals the next two weeks.

With the 1-2 hole they put themselves in, they can't afford to be dropping many more games early in the year.

They will need Henry and his legs to replicate Sunday's performance if they want to continue to find success.

The good news for Baltimore is, Henry is as committed to himself and his body as ever.
