Eagles set postseason points record with Super Bowl win
Super Bowl LIX was a blowout, but that's nothing new for the Eagles.
Philadelphia put up big scores throughout the playoffs, and actually set a new points record in 2024.
The Eagles scored 145 points in just four games, which is the most in a single postseason in NFL history.
Those points came from a 22-10 win vs the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round, a 28-22 Divisional Round win against the LA Rams, and a 55-23 victory vs the Washington Commanders in the NFC title game.
Add the 40 points Philly scored against the Chiefs in a 40-22 Super Bowl win, and that's a new postseason record.
Jalen Hurts on 'Hall of Fame trajectory' after Super Bowl win
Jalen Hurts is on a Hall of Fame trajectory after his first Super Bowl win, Ryan Clark has suggested.
The Eagles quarterback was named MVP in New Orleans on Sunday night, silencing any doubters who have judged him for his failings more than his successes over the course of his career.
Hurts threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for 72 yards and another TD, in the 40-22 win over the Chiefs.
Speaking on Monday, ESPN's Clark suggested the quarterback has a 'clutch' gene that allows him to show up in the biggest moments, and added that he is on the path to Canton.

Jason Kelce breaks silence on pain of brother Travis losing Super Bowl
Super Bowl LIX was a bittersweet event for Jason Kelce, writes Joshua Rogers.
On one hand, his former team, Philadelphia Eagles, captured their second ever world championship in emphatic fashion, but on the other, his beloved brother, Travis, lost one of the most important games of his career.
Jason, who was covering the game as part of his TV work with ESPN, has now broken his silence revealing the range of emotions he went through in New Orleans.
"Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions," Kelce posted on X on Tuesday.
"There were a lot of emotions last night, and now that I’ve collected my thoughts, I’ll attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever.
"That game was odd for me to watch if I’m being completely honest. I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after, and I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago.
"On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, Many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career."

'Are you serious?'
If Aaron Rodgers wants to extend his NFL legacy next season, it will not be with the New York Jets.
Per Jay Glazer, owner Woody Johnson has seen enough and is ready to eat $49million in dead cap by making Rodgers a free agent, informing the 41-year-old last week.
Theoretically, he is in a good position with the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants all potentially in the market for a QB.
But Shannon Sharpe and Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson believe Rodgers' decision to skip Jets minicamp and go to Egypt over the offseason could prove to be a huge stumbling block.
"Raiders need a quarterback, Steelers, Saints, Browns could potentially need a QB," Sharpe said on the. "Do any of those places sound appealing or does he walk off into the sunset?"
"I don't think he walks off into the sunset," replied Ochocinco. "The fact that he flew to New Jersey to seek a meeting about his future (proves that).
"But Steelers, take them out of the equation. You're not going to come in with the attitude that you have, not with that organisation, or with Mike Tomlin.
"Saying you're not coming to training camp, taking retreats, saying some of the stuff you say through the media. That ain't happening."
Sharpe thinks Rodgers needs a reality check and questioned if the future Hall of Famer -- who was being touted as a potential Vice President candidate for Robert Kennedy Jr. in 2024 -- is truly committed to the game.
"I just think he's going to have to make a decision," he added. "Bro, are you going to be serious about this?"
Joey Ice hails on-fire Clark
NFL star Joe Burrow has joined the list of Caitlin Clark admirers, writes Mohamud Ahmed.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback gave his impression of the WNBA star in a recent interview and made a promise he'll now have to keep.
Clark has attracted the attention of other superstar athletes and Burrow has become the latest sportsperson to sing her praises.
The Bengals QB was in New Orleans for the Super Bowl and was asked about the Fever forward.
"Shoutout Caitlin Clark, she's always fun to watch," the QB said.
"I think she's bringing a lot of fans to the WNBA. She's going to continue to get better. She's an hour and a half from Cincy, so I'll have to go and make the trip."
Eagles fans 'crossed a line'
The Philadelphia Eagles humbled Patrick Mahomes and the three-peat chasing Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, writes Olivier Browning.
Naturally, the Eagles' Super Bowl win sent the city of Philadelphia wild, with many fans partying into the night as they celebrated a second Lombardi Trophy.
Some set off fireworks, while others spilled into the streets to climb on top of cars and topple traffic signals close to Broad Street.
Elsewhere, a small section of fans decided that Mahomes hadn't been humbled enough on the field, and took aim at him as they partied.
Footage shared on social media shows a group of people burning a Kermit the Frog doll, while chanting 'F*** the Chiefs'.
Philadelphia Eagles die-hards accused of going 'too far' with Patrick Mahomes abuse that leaves fans dividedStephen A. Smith declares GOAT debate 'officially over'
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs fell to the Eagles in Sunday night's Super Bowl.
With defeat, Kansas City have been denied a historic three-peat, which was discussed for most of the season.
Had Mahomes led his team to victory last night, the debate between him and Brady - a seven-time Super Bowl champion - would no doubt rage on.
The pair are often compared, and had Mahomes achieved something that even the great Brady failed to do, he would certainly have a claim at the GOAT crown.
However, it didn't work out that way and naturally, fans were quick to declare the debate between the pair 'over'.
Even ESPN's Stephen A. Smith agrees, at least for now.
"It's officially over, there's nothing to talk about," he told First Take, suggesting four-time Super Bowl winner Joe Montana should be back in the conversation.
"You talk about that GOAT conversation, that went out of the window last night."
Eagles potential opponents for 2025 season opener
The Eagles would be forgiven for taking a few days to bask in the glory of their Super Bowl success, but attention will soon turn to preparations for next season.
Now that Philadelphia is back on top of the football world, they will have the honor of kicking off the 2025 campaign at Lincoln Financial Field in September.
And it's never to early to consider who the Eagles might face in that first primetime game.
Philly’s home schedule for next season consists of the Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders.
One of those teams will be suiting up against the Eagles in Week 1.
We will find out for sure who it will be when the schedule is released in May.
Credit: Getty Kelce on Chiefs loss: 'We haven't played that bad all year'
Travis Kelce did not have a night to remember in New Orleans.
The legendary tight end had just four catches on six targets for 39 yards in Kansas City's blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
His partnership with Patrick Mahomes, which has been so good to watch in Super Bowls and playoff games gone by, was almost non-existent.
Kelce, now 35, may not have much time left in the NFL, with speculation rife over retirement rumors.
According to insider Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs star is yet to make up his mind about his future.
But one thing he is sure of, though, is that Super Bowl LIX was Kansas City's worst performance of the season.
"We haven't played that bad all year," Kelce told reporters post-game.

Super Bowl LX logo revealed as fans lean into conspiracy theory
This year's Super Bowl is only just in the books, but the logo for next year's game has already been revealed.
Fans are already predicting who will be playing at Levi's Stadium next February, in what will be the 60th annual game.
Why are they doing that? Because of the Super Bowl logo conspiracy, of course.
There's been a prevalent conspiracy in recent years pertaining to the annually-evolving logo -- chiefly, that the two colors on the Super Bowl logo every season represent the teams that end up in the game.
First it was Rams-Bengals in Super Bowl LVI (orange and yellow), then it was Eagles-Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII (green and red).
This year, the Super Bowl LIX logo was red and green, which led some to speculate that the Chiefs and Eagles were destined to meet in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII -- which they did.
Now, fans are making their early picks for Super Bowl LX - and you can read all about it below.
Mahomes shares statement after Chiefs loss
Patrick Mahomes has taken responsibility for Kansas City's Super Bowl loss in a statement posted on X.
The quarterback was sacked six times by the Eagles defense in a 40-22 defeat.
"Appreciate all the love and support from Chiefs Kingdom," Mahomes wrote after the game.

"Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me. We will be back."
Celebrations on streets of Philadelphia after Super Bowl win
The Eagles are Super Bowl champions - and as expected - fans have taken to the streets of Philly to celebrate.
Hundreds flocked to the city’s Broad Street to celebrate the team's second world title.
Others set off fireworks, while some reportedly climbed on vehicles and traffic lights, as the party continued long into the night.
Icing on the cake
There can't be many better ways to celebrate a birthday than a pick six in a Super Bowl triumph.
Mahomes reflects on Super Bowl loss
It is the second time in his career that Patrick Mahomes has lost a Super Bowl.
The Eagles throttled Mahomes and the Chiefs 40-22.
He was asked after the game how this loss compared to the first one.
"Both sucked," Mahomes said.
"There's no way around it. Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, they'll stick with you the rest of your career.
"These will be the two losses that will motivate me to be even better for the rest of my career, because you only get so few of these."
That didn't take long...
We referenced the pole climbing in the post below.
It has begun.
It's always rowdy in Philadelphia
The lampposts are in for a busy night...
Jalen Hurts is crowned Super Bowl LIX MVP

Hurts now cements himself in Philadelphia sports history.
‘Revenge roast’
Tom Brady really hit his stride in the booth as he watched Patrick Mahomes get his wings clipped by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Perhaps he was in a good mood as probably the only man capable of matching his seven rings any time soon stumbled, perhaps it was his usual gift for rising to the occasion. Whatever the reason, Tom Brady is enjoying one of his best games as a broadcaster.
He took a shot at famous Eagles fan Kevin Hart -- one of the many people who took part in the now infamous Netflix special '
"Kevin Hart's here? How do the cameras find Kevin Hart? Brady asked, joking about his height.
"Depends on the day I guess," replied play-by-play caller Kevin Burkhardt.
"Kevin I love you, you took so many shots at me in May, I'm coming right back at you," clarified Brady to point out it was a friendly dig.
Burkhardt then announced the 'Tom Brady roast revenge tour' was in season.
