Kelce broke the record on Christmas Day in the Chiefs' 29-10 throttling of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes found Kelce wide open in the end zone all by himself, giving him one of the easiest touchdowns of his career.

It just so happened to be the one to break the franchise record.

In true Kelce fashion, the tight end paid homage to Gonzalez, by mimicking his vintage touchdown celebration, dunking the football over the goalpost.

Gonzalez recorded a message to Kelce after he broke his record, which was posted on X.

"What's up, Travis?" Gonzalez said.

"Congratulations on breaking the all-time Chiefs' touchdown record.

"Lots of big names that you passed, including me.

"I just want to tell you congratulations man, watching you grow as a player on the field and off the field, everything you've done for the game, for the position, couldn't be prouder of you, couldn't be happier for you.

"Keep it up, you got a lot more to go, because I know you got it in you. Good luck to you brother, congrats."
