Leave no stone unturned.

That seems to be the motto for Woody Johnson and the New York Jets, as they have interviewed 31 candidates (and counting) in their search for their next general manager and head coach.

From Aaron Glenn and Matt Nagy, to Arthur Smith and Brian Flores, Johnson and the Jets seem to be doing their homework on everyone.

Even old friend Rex Ryan got an interview.

A blast from the past, but not that surprising considering the last time they made the playoffs was when Ryan was at the helm, all the way back in 2010.

A handful of potential head coaches, and a handful of potential general managers.

Johnson wants to get it right.

He needs to get it right.

He is looking for answers that he needs to find.

So what if the list of names is longer than an anaconda?

Get it right.

And that's just with the new general manager and new head coach.

Johnson and Rodgers don't seem to be on the same page when it comes to the future of the franchise

That's not even getting into the future of Aaron Rodgers and the quarterback position.

For Johnson, it's one thing at a time.

One foot in front of the other, aiming to get the GM and coach right.

And he's searching from sea to shining sea to find the right combo.

Former NFL player turned analyst, Jason Bell doesn't have a problem with the extensive search.

"Cast a wide net," Bell told talkSPORT in an exclusive interview.

"If you're a Jet fan, you want to see how thorough your organization is. They've been called out for some of their decisions, right, especially this year.

"Who's making the decisions? What are they doing? Who's got the input?

"If you go out there and say, 'Look at what we've done. We've covered everything.'

"It's like looking for an investment. You look for a lot of them, you pick the good one, right?

"You don't just look at five and then make a decision. You try to cover hundreds and thousands or whatever.

"It's that same kind of situation...

Shannon Sharpe says Jets fans need to say sorry to Zach Wilson amid Aaron Rodgers disastrous season

"Ultimately it's giving your fan base some knowledge that you believe that they're doing the right things, and that's what they're really trying to do.

"They're talking to their fans.

"Look, we're taking this serious, we're considering all these candidates, so when we choose this person, you understand, it didn't come out anywhere."

While Bell is preaching patience as a positive, the fanbase isn't appreciating the extensive search.

'Let me know when mine is, since we're just interviewing anybody,' one fan joked on X, waiting for his interview.

'At this point O think it would be easier to tweet everyone who y'all haven't interviewed,' another fan chimed in.

Johnson has a big decision to make

'When we getting to 2nd round of interviews? 2028?' one fan posted.

Regardless of the amount of trolling that the fanbase is doing, Johnson is doing the correct thing.

No one can accuse him and the Jets of short-changing this search.

Things haven't been well for the franchise found on 1 Jets Drive in over a decade, so give them a chance here.
