Las Vegas Raiders to make NFL history and Pete Carroll’s admiration for part-owner Tom Brady goes further than NFL

There's a new sheriff in town out in the desert.
The Las Vegas Raiders have tapped Pete Carroll to be their next head coach.
The Super Bowl winning coach is now the lead man in Las Vegas, after owner Mark Davis and minority owner Tom Brady picked Carroll out of a deep pool of candidates.
In doing so, Davis and Brady have made history.
With the hire, the 73-year-old Carroll will become the oldest head coach in National Football League history.
He will be turning 74 on September 15th.
Carroll now joins the loaded AFC West that includes fellow Super Bowl winning coaches, Andy Reid and Sean Payton, along with Jim Harbaugh, who is a proven winner in his own right.
Per , between the four coaches, they share 5 Super Bowl titles and two college football national championships.
The AFC West has become the division of winners.
As if it wasn't already, Carroll now only adds to the impressive list.
After facing one another throughout their careers, most notably in Super Bowl XLIX, Brady and Carroll are now on the same side.
A side that Carroll is happy to be on now.
"Tom [Brady] is one of my heroes," Carroll told NBC Sports' Peter King back in 2019.
Carroll said his admiration goes far beyond what Brady accomplished on the field.
It's what he's been doing off of it, that Carroll has admired.
"He’s taken a cutting-edge approach to nutrition and well-being.
"It just shows you that you can feel okay … If we keep eating the way we’re eating, then you’re not going to feel good.
"You’ve got to work at it. We are eating our way into discomfort."
While Carroll is approaching is mid-70's, you would never be able to tell just by looking or listening to him.
The man still moves and coaches like he's in his thirties.
Known for his infectious energy and competitive fire, Carroll is the perfect for Brady's vision in turning around the Raiders.
He has his work cut out for him, as the Raiders haven't made the playoffs since 2021 and haven't won a game in the postseason since 2002.
That is also the last time they won the AFC West.
If there's anyone who can get the storied franchise turned out, it's the man with limitless supply of energy.
