‘That 5% paying off’ – Tom Brady’s $140 million team involved in historic blockbuster trade moments after calling Commanders-Eagles game
Another Tom Brady team was getting busy in their offseason.
This time it was WNBA side Las Vegas Aces, who recently announced a blockbuster trade that seems them land one of the league's best players.

In a three-team trade, the Aces are acquiring Seattle Storm guard and two-time WNBA champion Jewell Loyd while sending three-time All-Star Plum to the Los Angeles Sparks, per.
Brady owns a minority stake, reportedly around 5%, in the Aces, the WNBA side are .
The legendary quarterback has taken a big interest in Las Vegas and recently acquired a minority stake in the NFL team there, the Las Vegas Raiders.
News of the trade came out just moments after Brady was calling the Commanders and Eagles NFC Championship game, which Philly won, 53-23.

The 47-year-old works for Fox Sports as an analyst alongside his roles as a part owner for multiple sporting teams.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner bought a stake in the WNBA team back in October 2023, citing his "love for women's sports" as the reason behind the purchase.
The Aces were back-to-back champions when Brady bought a stake in the team, however, they failed to defend the championship in 2024 with the New York Liberty securing the crown.
Plum, who is leaving Las Vegas, decided to enter free agency but as result of the Aces' core designation lever, her only way of changing teams was via a trade.

Therefore, the two-time WNBA champions let go of their star guard and secured six-time All-Star Loyd in return.
The trade also makes history as it's the first time in the WNBA that a trade involves multiple No.1 overall picks.

As part of the wider deal, the Storm also get the No. 2 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft, forward Li Yueru from the Sparks.
Seattle will also get Las Vegas' 2026 first-round pick while Los Angeles get the No. 9 pick in 2025 and a 2026 second-round pick from the Storm.
Meanwhile, the Aces will get the No. 13 pick in 2025 from the Sparks.
Plum's exit means that the championship-winning core of herself, A'ja Wilson, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray is coming to an end. The team won two championships together.
The 30-year-old has only signed a one-year-deal with the Sparks and so will be free to join another team in 2026.
Plum will join the vast majority of WNBA players who are expected to be free agents next year.
This is the result of the new collective bargaining agreement that many anticipate will feature significant salary increases.
The WNBA season returns on May 16, with the league hoping to keep momentum from their record-breaking 2024 season.
