It's been three days since the Kansas City Chiefs were beaten in the Super Bowl.

The three-peat chasing Chiefs were emphatically denied history by an all-conquering Philadelphia Eagles team who outplayed them in all three facets of the game to secure a resounding 40-22 victory.

"Couldn't find a lick of momentum.

"I'm kicking myself for some of the tiny decisions I made on the field.

"I wasn't the best leader that I could be in motivating my guys and keeping my guys, you know, cool, calm, and collected.

"And I put a lot of that on myself as the guy that's been in the building for 12 years and seen a lot of football and actually seen a situation just like this in the Super Bowl.

"It's a tough pill to swallow. It's a hard reality, man."

"I have loved ones, I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything that I do, and they were all their cheering me on and hoping for the best on Sunday.

It wasn't all doom and gloom for Travis.

Kelce finished Super Bowl LIX with with four catches for 39 yards, surpassing Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for the most catches in Super Bowl history.

"I know this sucks to talk about," Jason told Travis.

"It wasn't all negative. You broke the record for most catches in Super Bowl history.

"I know that you don't care about it that much right now because of the way the game went. You have so many records at this point that it's just another one

"But at the end of the day it's just another thing that cements you as one of the best players ever to play in the NFL.

Travis replied: "That's the last thing I care about right now.

"I know, but you will, and it's dope," Jason said. "Just here to tell you, it's a f****** dope record.

Unfortunately, Travis' record was not enough to stop the juggernaut Eagles, who dominated the Chiefs like very few teams have been able to.

"We haven’t played that bad all year,” Kelce said immediately after the game. “[We] just couldn’t find that spark, couldn’t find that momentum.”

Kelce is coming off the back of career lows since his 2013 rookie season of 823 receiving yards and three touchdown catches during the regular season.

Speculation is rife the 35-year-old will walk away from the sport this offseason, having already achieved so much while building up a lucrative personal brand thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift.

He did not address his retirement after the Super Bowl, but running mate Patrick Mahomes did, saying Kelce would “spend some time with his family and make that decision on his own.”

“He’s given so much to this team and to the NFL,” the three-time Super Bowl MVP told reporters. “He has a lot of football left in him. You can see it. He always makes plays in the biggest moments, but it’s if he wants to put in that grind.

Kelce has hinted at retirement before, but on Super Bowl LIX Opening Night hinted he may want to stick around beyond that.

“Hopefully still playing football. I love doing this. I love coming into work every day. I feel like I still got a lot of good football left in me,” he told media.

“We'll see what happens. I know I've been setting myself up for other opportunities in my life. That's always been the goal, knowing that football only lasts for so long.”
