The Dallas Cowboys have an important decision to make in the coming weeks.

After a disappointing 2024 season, they hold the 12th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, and have the opportunity to fill some gaps in their roster.

Many mocks suggest that Dallas should select standout running back Ashton Jeanty from Boise State, after a prolific college season that saw him finish second in Heisman Trophy voting.

The All-American, in fact, has already made a draft plea to the Cowboys, describing Dallas as the 'perfect city'.

However, there is speculation that Jeanty could be picked long before the team are on the clock, and they may turn their attention to other offensive weapons.

Two wide receivers, Tetairoa McMillan and Lance Zierlein, have been linked by draft analysts, as has tight end Matt Miller.

Defensive positions, including at cornerback and defensive tackle, also need attention.

And while fans will have to wait and see what unfolds on the big night, the brother of Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons has made a desperate plea to the front office, urging them to invest in a 'true difference maker'.

Taking to social media, Terrence Parsons Jr cited Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals' run to the Super Bowl in 2021 as the example to follow.

"ALL I BEEN PREACHING LAW," Terrence wrote, re-posting a clip from Law Nation Sports calling for the Cowboys to .

"We watched Joe Burrow get sacked nine times and make the Super Bowl, WHY?

"He had 3 WRs who would WIN and a decent run game, and even their defense made plays when it mattered."

As Parsons Jr pointed out, Burrow and the Bengals rewrote the history books in the playoffs three years ago.

The quarterback was sacked nine times against the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Divisional Round, tied with Warren Moon for the most since the 1970 merger.

He became the first QB to hit the floor nine times and win a playoff game.

When the Bengals allowed those nine sacks, it also tied an NFL playoff record.

The 1966 Kansas City Chiefs, 1984 Chicago Bears, 1986 New York Jets, and 1993 Houston Oilers are the only other teams who have also allowed nine sacks in a playoff game.

But still, Cincinnati overcame their O-line struggles to win 19-16 and advance to the AFC Championship Game, where they beat the Chiefs.

Eventually, though, the Los Angeles Rams denied them glory in Super Bowl LVI.

That Bengals playoff run came in Burrow's second season, after they drafted rookie Ja'Marr Chase as the fifth-overall pick.

He has gone on to become one of the league's top offensive weapons, and there's no denying the LSU product has proved himself a 'true difference maker'.

The Bengals have since agreed huge $276m extensions with both Chase and his fellow wide receiver Tee Higgins.

It remains to be seen if there is a player of Chase's calibre in this year's draft, but Parsons Jr is sure of one thing -- the Cowboys must at least try to draft big later this month -- and that means bolstering the offense.

His brother, meanwhile, is still negotiating a mega-money contract extension in Dallas.

Micah is hoping to become the NFL’s first $200million defensive end, and has been in talks with Jerry Jones, who has faced criticism for ‘circumventing’ his player's agent.

The two parties are said to agree on 'most issues' around the new contract, and if the Cowboys can tie down Parsons and draft big, they will surely improve on their 7-10 finish last season.
