‘Hopeful’ Steph Curry answers a big Kamala Harris question but Kevin Durant still uncertain for Team USA in Nikola Jokic showdown vs Serbia

Kevin Durant is still unsure if he will be ready for the start of the 2024 Olympics.
The three-time gold medalist hopes to be active when Team USA faces Nikola Jokic and Serbia on Sunday.
But Durant told reporters on Thursday that he needed to see how he felt after practice, with a game decision still to be made for the United States' first big test in the 2024 Summer Games.
"Each day is getting better," Durant said. "Another intense practice and we'll see how I feel."
Team USA coach Steve Kerr announced last week in London that Durant would return to practice, at the same time that Durant expressed excitement about being teammates with Curry again.
While LeBron James powered the United States to two tough victories against South Sudan and Germany, Durant remained off the hardwood during the games and questions are mounting about his Olympic status.
Meanwhile, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was asked on Thursday about his relationship with Kamala Harris, who is expected to replace Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee in the 2024 US presidential election.
Curry acknowledged that Harris has a close connection with Team USA and he's a big fan of the current US vice president, who's likely to oppose former US president Donald Trump in the 2024 national election.
"Vice President Harris is trying to bring her energy to this campaign," Curry said. "And hopefully if she's on the ticket, winning the election."
"It's a big deal to say the least," Curry said. "She's going to represent the Bay Area. She's been a big supporter of us. So I want to give that energy right back to her."
Two weeks ago, Harris was a surprise guest at a Team USA practice in Las Vegas.
While Biden was still deciding if he would oppose Trump in 2024 -- he eventually quit the race and supported Harris -- the US VP attempted to rally James, Curry and Durant.
“Bring back the gold,†Harris said.
Kerr was impressed by the support of a longtime Warriors fan.
“It’s a great reminder of the fact that we’re playing for our country,†Kerr said. “Vice President Harris told the guys how much she admired them, how much they really embody excellence and that we are going over there to try to win a gold medal for our country.â€
On Thursday, Curry said that he hopes Team USA can help unite a "divided" country.
"I'm just excited knowing that, obviously, we're representing our country here," Curry said. "This is a monumental next couple months for our country and the direction that we're headed.
"Hopefully this is a great way to do our part to continue unifying the country -- sports bring a lot of people together.
"For her, in this moment knowing what's ahead, it's just all about positive energy and optimism."
Team USA is favored to win gold again but will face serious competition from Serbia, Germany, Canada and others.
James carried the United States in London, delivering two powerhouse performances.
"He's just got such an incredible competitive spirit and confidence in the clutch," USA coach Steve Kerr exclusively told talkSPORT. "As soon as he got out there, he went to work."
