Record breaking day for England as they hit highest first day total ever, with four centuries, in opening Test match against Pakistan

England could not have hoped for a better start to their three Test series against Pakistan.
From the first over England were breaking records, with Zak Crawley hitting 14 runs in the opening six balls, which is the most ever by an England player at the beginning of a Test match.
The visitors hit the 100 run mark just 83 balls into their innings, which is also new record for England in a Test match.
In the first 20 overs of the game, England went for 141 runs without losing a wicket, which bested Pakistan's total of 137/8 after 20 overs in the recent T20 World Cup final, which they lost to England.
Zak Crawley's 86 ball century is the fastest ever by an England Test opener and it was the fourth fastest ever.
That was until Harry Brook came in later on and pushed his teammate down the list by hitting the third quickest Test century in just 80 balls.
Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope also got in on the action with hundreds of their own to make it four for the innings, equalling the most centuries in one innings for England ever and there are still six wickets in hand.
