Jonny Bairstow carries Just Stop Oil protester off the pitch at Lord’s in second Ashes Test

The second Test of the Ashes at Lord's got off to a lively start as Johnny Bairstow carried a Just Stop Oil protester off the pitch.
Only one over had been bowled by England before the protester sprinted onto the pitch and attempted to throw around orange powder, which has become the signature move of Just Stop Oil.
But, the protester did not make it to the wicket, as he was stopped by wicket-keeper Bairstow, who actually carried him off the pitch.
Meanwhile, the Lord's groundsmen were quick to bring on a leaf-blower and clear up any orange powder.
When Bairstow returned back out after changing his kit, he was greeted by a huge round of applause from the Lord's crowd, as the match swiftly resumed.
And the Lord's crowd were not the only ones who enjoyed Bairstow's actions, as one Twitter user said: "Bairstow gone from zero to hero within 10 minutes of a session."
Another added: "What a catch by Bairstow, has to be out."
Meanwhile Piers Morgan who is in attendance at the second Test commented: "Jonny putting the rubbish out," followed by a series of clapping emojis.
Met Police have since revealed that three protesters have been arrested and taken into custody following the incident at Lord's.
This is not the first time Bairstow has had a run-in with Just Stop Oil, as they previously held up the England bus on the way to their Test match against Ireland earlier this month.
Bairstow posted a picture of the protesters at the time on his Instagram story alongside the caption: "If we're a bit late it's not our fault..."
As it stands, England are currently 1-0 down in the series following an exhilarating first Test at Edgbaston.
England lost the Test by an agonising two wickets as it went right to the wire, but Ben Stokes' men will be hoping to bounce back in the second Test.
