Joe Marler compares iconic England rugby header to Cristiano Ronaldo and reveals Premier League dream

Joe Marler has given talkSPORT a hilarious rundown of his iconic ‘assist’ for England at the Rugby World Cup.
The prop helped take England six clear of Japan before seeing out a 34-12 win in Group A.
He did so in the most unorthodox of fashions, with a ball bouncing off of his forehead, fooling everyone except for Courtney Lawes who ran through and converted a try.
With forward passes not allowed in rugby, Maler’s ‘assist’ was deemed to not be a knock-on as it didn’t come off of his hands or arms.
And with the no.1 looking absolutely baffled after heading the ball, him jokingly taking credit for the pass was rather amusing from one of English rugby’s favourite characters.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “Here’s some pointers on how to score a great header.
“You need to get in position early, you need to have clear comms to the playmaker so he can whip it in and find the target.
“You also need to jump, or someone just throws the ball really hard at your head.”
He then added: “I’d like to think it ranks up there with [Cristiano] Ronaldo and the way he used to get up in the air, but if I’m honest it was more like when John Prescott got egged.”
It was then put to Marler that a number of football teams could use his skills, particularly goal-shy Chelsea.
But he’s only got eyes for one team on the south coast.
“I’m not available in the January transfer window for anyone,” he said. “Danny Care will sign for Chelsea,” then after Care agreed, he said: “I thought you were a Liverpool fan?!”
Marler then added: “I’m not available for anyone except the mighty Seagulls OK? So [Roberto] De Zerbi, get your wallet out.”
