The 25-year-old had opened up about his mental health struggles and it was seemingly a reference to that.

Many sports stars from across the world emulated Rashford either in support or in recognition of their own struggles.

India cricket star Jasprit Bumrah, who is a huge Manchester United fan himself, performed the celebration after taking a wicket during the Cricket World Cup.

The fast bowler took the first wicket of the match in their clash with Afghanistan on Wednesday and pointed to his head like Rashford.

It is perhaps particularly poignant as it was World Mental Health day on Tuesday.

The pressure will be on India at this World Cup with the tournament being played in front of their home fans.

They started off with a victory over Australia and are looking to keep that 100 per cent record going against Afghanistan.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
