Rohit Sharma fumes as Ravindra Jadeja hilariously sacrifices debutant Sarfaraz Khan while on 99 to give himself chance of rare Test century

Rohit Sharma was fuming as Ravindra Jadeja sacrificed debutant Sarfaraz Khan to ensure he got a rare Test century.
The Indian spinner was stuck on 99 when he set off for a run from a Jimmy Anderson delivery, but he hit it straight to Mark Wood, who threw down the stumps at the non-striker's end.
Debutant Khan was already halfway down the track when Jadeja sent him back, but it was too late as Wood had destroyed the stumps to leave India five wickets down in the third Test of this five-match series.
Khan had played brilliantly, scoring a rapid 62, and it looked like he might get a century before Jadeja, who was stuck in the 90s for an hour.
However, the Indian number five ensured that wasn't happening as Jadeja hilariously sacrificed Khan like a lamb to the slaughter.
The two exchanged words, and captain Sharma was pictured throwing down his hat in disgust.
At this moment, Jadeja was clearly playing for himself and then scored just his fourth Test century the following ball.
It was a shambolic piece of cricket from Jadeja, who realised instantly he would never make it, so he decided that Khan's wicket was less important.
Anderson then had a few words with Jadeja to indicate that he shouldn't have the gall to celebrate his century after abandoning Khan.
Certainly, it drew a great reaction from David 'Bumble' Lloyd on-air.
Speaking on talkSPORT 2's live commentary, he said: "He's [Jadeja] sold him down the river.
"The young lad is going for the single. Jadeja sets off, then sends him back.
"He [Sharma] doesn't like it, but it's brilliant from Wood."
It proved to be the final wicket England would take on day one as the hosts closed on 326-5 after winning the toss.
However, they were in deep trouble when England had them 33-3, so it's been a very good comeback from India thanks to Rohit Sharma's 131 and Jadeja's 110 not out.
But with Khan out, England will hope to rattle through the rest of the team early on day two and start their own innings.
